Camera Crew Test for Stress Awareness

Stress can creep up in our lives at any point. Whether it’s a response to our expectations vs realities, or response to unpleasantness, unexpected hurdles or distressing events we come across in our lives, everyone experiences varying levels of stress.

Research has documented the many detrimental effects that long-term sustanied stress can have on our physical and emotional wellbeing, leading to exhaustion, negativity, anxiety disorders and burn-out.

But not all stress is bad for us. There are also some benefits to having stress, depending on whether we are experiencing positive or negative kind of stress. Positive stress can have many benefits.

What is positive stress?

Positive stress or Eustress is often an outcome of nerves and adrenaline rush, when we embark on a path to strive and accomplish a challenging task.

Positive stress makes us excited and lively, and stay motivated, set goals, stay on track and push us outside of our comfort zones inorder to achieve our goals. It’s the balance between boredom and overburden.

Why it’s important to develop positive stress?

Good stress makes us feel hopeful, confident, positive and full of vigor. Positive stress is essential to our emotional wellbeing. It strengthens us to try hard and overcome challenges in life. Positive stress has many resilience building qualities - it boosts us in shifting our mindset to face challenges rather than fear them.

How to shift your perspective on stress?

The good news is that the type of stress we feel is entirely up to how we choose to perceive the challenge ahead of us.  If we choose to get overwhelmed by the enormity of the task ahead of us, we are likely to feel the onset of negative mental strain. On the other hand, if the challenge motivates us to rise to the occasion, then we are likely to achieve and revel in the invogirating feeling of accomplishment.

Camera crew test

Imagine that you are being followed around by a camera crew chronicling your life, like being cast in a reality TV series.

Have you wondered what the camera crew would capture?

Are you excited by the version of yourself you are projecting?

Is the dream version of you confident and happy every day?

How does the dream version of you react to problems and stressful life situations?

Most of us have dreamed about a version of the camera crew test, and our impressive future selves. And then we wake up from our dream and land back into reality!
